At Big Grove Tavern, we take common dishes to the next level with creative ingredient combinations. We source our beef from Midwest farms. We support and offer Central Illinois produce. Our baked goods either are created in house or delivered by a local bakery daily. When it comes to flavor, we think Big; when it comes to our sources, we think Local.
Hand Cut Steaks
We serve steakhouse quality beef at everyday tavern prices, cooked on a 5-foot long lava rock grill. We source our beef from Midwestern farms whenever we can, to allow us a closer eye on the quality of our products.
Chef Raúl Parada uses fresh ingredients to create dishes full of flavor and zest, ensuring that Big Grove always offers classic tavern cuisine, with a modern flair.
Perfect for the late riser, or just for people who like to eat breakfast food early in the afternoon, we offer our Brunch Menu from 10:00 AM - 2:30 PM every Saturday and Sunday morning. We offer classics like pancakes, bacon, eggs, hash browns, and toast, alongside some delicious signature dishes like our new Tofu Breakfast Wrap, and our Carne Asada Huevos Rancheros.
Our seafood options are the best in downstate Illinois for quality and freshness. We start shucking fresh Oysters every Thursday afternoon, within minutes of delivery, and do so until we run out over the weekend. Our Ceviche gets raves as well.
Perfect to whet the appetite, our Deviled Eggs and Fried Brussels Sprouts are the talk of the town. Our fresh, house-made Soft Pretzel Braid comes with a pilsner-cheese fondue that’ll have you begging for more, and a mustard that will knock your socks off. (The mustard might clear your sinuses, too.)
